Lake Lodge #189 F. & A.M.

MAKING GOOD MEN BETTER

Lake Lodge #189 F.&A.M. has been proudly operating in the Milwaukee area since 1873. We are here to make good men better men through an ancient system of morality, veiled in allegory and illustrated by symbols.

We received our charter 1873 . Lake Lodge 189 first met in Puddlers Hall. We moved to a building at 960 K.K. Avenue and finally built the first new building by a Masonic Lodge in Milwaukee in 1908. This building is located at 2535 S. K.K. Ave (Now Kindred). Due to some space issues we build our current home at Lake Masonic Center.  The cornerstone was laid in August 1964.

We meet at Lake Masonic Center the 2nd Thursday every month.

Dinner is at 6pm, and lodge at 7pm.

WHAT IS A MASONIC LODGE?

The “lodge” was a structure which the ancient stonemasons built against the sides of the cathedrals during construction. They would work, and live in these lodges during certain times of the year.

But a Masonic lodge is more than a building; it is a living organism. It is the word we use to describe the group of brethren rather then the actual building. It is a tight-knit group of men who make solemn vows to one another and become comrades in Masonry and life.

Above all, a Masonic lodge represents open arms, a helping hand, and brotherly love to every Mason, anywhere, at any time.
